Mindful Yoga

Class fees: $20
Offered in-person or online over Zoom

*Email QSYoga@gmail.com or use the link below to register

A very slow and gentle yoga class focusing on mind-body awareness.

Whether you are a new or experienced student of yoga, in this class you are asked to approach your practice with a “beginner’s mind” and explore the sensations of your practice as if you are experiencing them for the first time. In this class we will greatly slow down the practice of yoga to allow yourself to be curious and open to what you are noticing in each pose and in each movement. Allow yourself to investigate these sensations as completely as possible and without judgement.

Rather than focusing on achieving any “proper physical form” during the practice, with each movement and posture you will be prompted to investigate how your body feels, notice thoughts that are vying for your attention, and observe any feelings that arise, all without judgement or attachment to these sensations. You will practice noticing anything that arises and then letting it go as if you are watching a cloud float away across the sky

No yoga or meditation experience is necessary.

Sunday, July 30 @ 2:00-4:30 pm

A very gentle yoga class followed by a guided relaxation.

This class will begin with a very gentle yoga practice aimed at relieving tight muscles and getting your body ready to relax. We will continue with a little breathwork, also called pranayama. Finally we will settle into Savasana, or any other relaxation pose that is most comfortable for your body, for a guided relaxation called Yoga Nidra. Yoga Nidra is translated as “Yogic Sleep” and is a type of guided deep relaxation that aims at leading you to that point just before sleep where you are still aware of your surroundings but very deeply relaxed. Yoga Nidra can help relieve stress and anxiety, improve sleep, release deeply held tension, among countless other benefits.

No yoga or meditation experience needed.
